THE BIGGEST SPORT IN THE WORLD
In this world, curling is everything. Kids practise their HURRY HARD in the schoolyard. Arenas sell out for a single end. And every curler on the ice is chasing the same title: top skip.
The road to it is the LAST STONE CIRCUIT. Six teams stand in the way, from THE QUIET OPENERS to THE CIRCUIT CHAMPIONS. THE BREAKERS would rather knock your stones out than go around them, and THE RAIL RIDERS live off the side boards. Nobody gets through it by being polite.
YELL AT YOUR SWEEPERS
Real curlers scream HURRY HARD at their sweepers. Here, the sweepers can actually do something about it. Yell a loud enough HARD and they'll scrub the ice so hard the stone speeds up, shedding embers all the way down the sheet. No real broom can do that. These ones can!
It all looks like the final match of a tournament arc. Every figure and every stone carries a heavy ink outline. Land a big hit and the screen freezes on the impact under a sound-effect card, then drops into slow motion.
POWER MOVES
BURNING BROOM turns the stone orange-hot and drives it down the ice. GLASS ROAD wipes the friction off the ice ahead, which is also the fastest way to lose your own stone off the far end. MIRROR fires on the other player's turn and cancels whatever they just used. And more!
THE CURLERS
Four curlers have a real shot at top skip. STRIKING BAND will tell you your shot was great and then knock your stone out of play. DEAD HANDLE puts a stone where she wants it and dares you to move it. KEEN PEBBLE has rehearsed her lines and takes it badly when a shot goes off script, while LONG GUARD plays the side boards as if they were part of the ice.
Every curler has a finisher of her own that pauses the match while a full manga page plays out. Each also has a unique ability for when she's the one sweeping.
MODES
LAST STONE CIRCUIT is the single-player campaign, played out between manga pages. Pick a captain from four of the curlers and a partner for her, then face six CPU teams that get tougher as you go. Finish it with any captain to unlock LONG GUARD, the fifth curler, in every mode.
Versus is how you settle who's top skip among your friends: two players on one PC, taking turns on the same microphone.
NEKKETSU (hot-blooded) rules have everything above, and the side boards bounce a stone back into play instead of putting it out. CLASSIC rules drop the speed-ups, the power moves and everything else a real curler couldn't do, and play much closer to the real sport.
DAILY TRIAL sets out the same stones for every player each day, with one goal and three throws to reach it. Every shonen hero gets a training arc, and TRAINING ARC is yours: unlimited stones, with the moves charged from the start.
