Gameplay
The core loop revolves around ten-minute shifts that progress through day and night cycles. During each shift, the facility operates continuously, requiring players to purchase and configure containment cells, monitor subject needs via the PTF Tracker, assign Scientists and Keepers to tasks, and balance wages and supplies. Staff move through halls and elevators in real time, collecting food, feeding subjects, cleaning cells, and conducting research. Containment involves tracking multiple interacting factors such as hunger, stress, sanitation, habitat affinity, and breach pressure rather than simple health metrics.
Manifestation begins with sealed Nascent Memories that reconstruct living PTF specimens in chosen cells. Each individual carries unique Quotients, provenance details, care preferences, combat traits, and a persistent record. The Codex starts with unknowns, and players uncover species traits through feeding, habitat adjustments, and research procedures. Six research minigames scale in difficulty based on relevant PTF and Scientist Quotients, unlocking further details for the living dossier and species Codex.
External defense occurs on the escape field, where players position squads, equip weapons, and build from five turret families including Autocannon, Minigun, Energy Lance, Tesla Tower, and Biosprayer. Upgrades enhance performance, yet each PTF presents distinct Biomic offense and Eidolic defense profiles that demand tailored responses. Weather and forecasts add operational variables to the field.

Matches include randomized local accreditation options or private friend lobbies. Steam PTF Trade enables directors to browse eligible living specimens, propose one-for-one custody transfers, and finalize exchanges after mutual confirmation. These systems integrate with the main facility management without interrupting ongoing shifts.
Facility Management and Research
Players maintain fifteen containment positions across five accessible floors while directing specialist staff through shared infrastructure. Keepers handle physical care and cleaning, while Scientists remain posted for procedures. Breaches create cascading pressure across occupied cells on the same floor, turning single incidents into broader threats. Dynamic surface and paranormal weather influence operations with forecasts available for planning.
Two hundred species populate the roster, each featuring distinct combat kits, relics, preferences, research responses, and lore entries. Forms include normal, shiny, and SteamID-derived Manager Chromatic variants that persist in the Codex. Three local save slots support play alongside account-bound cloud copies and achievements.
