The people have risen. The old regime is dead, and the streets of Paris run red with blood. You, the once revered General Lazare Hoche, have been condemned to the derelict cells of Carmes Prison, in line for the guillotine. But a fractured memory is only the beginning of your nightmare... What is that sound? The footsteps of the new Jailer who has taken charge of these eerie corridors. He has a twisted purpose in mind for you.
You are not alone in the dark. Royals and revolutionaries, friends and foes; a twisted cast of historical characters whisper to you from the shadows of cracked walls. Some seem to know more than they let on. You must face them in deadly, psychological card duels. Outplay them to survive one more night, or lose and face the guillotine at dawn.
To cheat death you must master the board through tactical execution and ruthless deckbuilding. Each opponent you defeat is sent to the guillotine, allowing you to claim your chosen cards from their deck to strengthen your own. After all, history is drafted by victors, and you intend to hold the winning hand.
Survival requires a cunning mind. Explore the labyrinthine corridors of Carmes Prison. Gain valuable information from vanishing figures behind hushed walls to piece together the truth behind your fate. Items discovered in the depths of the prison can swing the odds of survival in your favour… and you know very well you will need every unfair advantage you can find to turn the tide!
In this thrilling game of tactical survival, victory commands a heavy price. To increase your chances of escaping the guillotine, you must actively surrender your own resources. Yet miscalculate the risk, and you will forfeit your life. Sacrifice your best cards, give up vital board slots, or bleed your own health to rewrite your fate.
