FaceRobots is an action, indie, and adventure game for PC that puts players in control of small ragdoll robots whose faces display live webcam feeds or custom images. Up to four players work together in a shared city environment filled with destructible objects, loot, and over-the-top encounters.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on ragdoll physics that make every movement and collision unpredictable. Players smash trash cans, suitcases, and hotel rooms to gather loot, then sell the items at ATMs to build a shared team fund. That money funds purchases of weapons such as fists, bats, crowbars, pistols, shotguns, Uzis, M4 rifles, snipers, and grenades, along with backpacks, upgrades, and keys for new areas. When a teammate is knocked out, others can carry the body to a revival point or simply toss it aside. The webcam integration means each robot displays a real-time face, turning every session into a visual mix of player expressions and custom images during chaotic moments.
Exploration spans five unlockable city districts: the park, the station, the south city area that includes a hotel and sewers, the fun fair, and the airport. Between main sessions, players visit a casino offering slots, roulette, and blackjack where the shared funds can be gambled away. Additional activities include a bar where drinking whisky alters voice pitch, karting tracks, basketball courts, bumper cars, duck shooting galleries, claw machines, and various vehicles such as bikes, scooters, skateboards, and shopping carts that can be used to push friends around.
Game Modes
The primary experience is online co-op supporting one to four players. Proximity voice chat allows natural communication while webcam faces remain visible on each robot. Customization options include emotes, hats, and color choices for the robots. The structure encourages repeated runs through the city districts, with loot collection and boss fights forming the main progression path. No separate competitive or solo modes are detailed beyond the flexible player count that works from single-player sessions up to full groups.
Boss Encounters
Several distinctive bosses appear throughout the city. A living dumpster can swallow players whole. A giant spider wraps victims in cocoons. Arthur is a zombie wearing a tie who hides in fog on a hotel rooftop. King Alex rules the flooded sewers as a giant poop creature. Crappy the Clown presides over a collapsing checkerboard arena. Captain Cuckoo is a boastful pilot who dives at players with his plane. These fights integrate with the ragdoll mechanics, requiring coordination to survive and progress.
Is It Worth Playing?
FaceRobots suits groups looking for lighthearted, physics-driven co-op sessions where teamwork and improvisation matter more than precise aiming or complex builds. The combination of looting, weapon upgrades, and absurd boss designs creates repeatable runs that reward experimentation with carrying teammates or using vehicles creatively. Availability on PC with online co-op and built-in voice features makes it accessible for casual gatherings. Players who enjoy ragdoll chaos and shared progression will find consistent entertainment in the city districts and between-run activities, while those seeking structured campaigns or competitive balance may prefer other titles.
