An entire island to explore, armies to raise, and plenty of questionable decisions to make.
Conquest brings a sandbox campaign to Survivor Joe Lost Island, putting you in control of Comrade Joe as he tries to make something of his unfortunate situation.
Your adventure begins with a hit ordered by The Jodfather. What should have been a straightforward job leaves Comrade Joe stranded on an island occupied by five competing factions. From there, what happens is largely up to you. Explore, trade, recruit soldiers, make allies, start wars, or simply cause problems for everyone around you.
An Island That Doesn't Wait for You
Explore procedurally generated islands with mountains, forests, swamps, villages, and fortified settlements. Each island has a shareable three-word seed, so you can revisit a familiar world or challenge someone else to survive the same one.
The Joes, Tikis, Cavemen, Imps, and Undead each control territory and maintain their own armies. Their warlords recruit soldiers, trade resources, improve settlements, and wage wars independently of your actions.
Villages produce supplies, caravans travel between settlements, and armies patrol their borders. Time advances as you travel or choose to wait, giving you the freedom to plan your next move.
Raise an Army, Lead It into Battle
Recruit average joes, hire troops from friendly villages, and build an army from the island's different factions. Train and promote your soldiers through branching upgrade trees, equip your forces, and keep them supplied.
When fighting starts, you're right there with them.
Control Comrade Joe in side-scrolling battles, using swords, firearms, bows, grenades, traps, and, naturally, his plunger. Your soldiers fight alongside you, with reinforcements joining as the battle progresses.
Fight across 100s of open-field battlefields and settlement assault layouts, including villages, resource sites, strongholds, and faction headquarters. Break through gates, destroy defences, and try not to lose your entire army in the process.
Your soldiers can die permanently, and wounded commanders need time to recover. Sometimes retreating is the better option.
Build Something Worth Defending
Capture settlements, establish garrisons, and develop your territory with housing, barracks, workshops, watchtowers, and other improvements.
Manage food, timber, iron, and Jold while keeping your villages productive and your armies supplied. Trade with neighbours, escort caravans, raid enemy shipments, or hunt down rogue bands for their loot.
Back at camp, recruit and train soldiers, craft equipment, store supplies, and send civilians on expeditions. You can also venture out alone to hunt wildlife, rescue stranded Joes, investigate wrecks, or take contracts from villages and warlords.
Your relationships matter, too. Helping a village might earn you recruits and better trading opportunities. Raiding it will probably have the opposite effect.
Your Island, Your Story
Conquest isn't about following a single path.
You might try to rebuild a ship and escape, establish a homeland for the stranded Joes, conquer the island, or investigate the mysterious Jem.
Along the way, you'll encounter new characters, discover optional storylines, and make decisions that can lead to different endings.
Or you could ignore all that and spend your time building an army large enough to make everyone nervous.
Skirmish and Prologue
Want to skip the campaign and get straight to fighting? Skirmish Mode lets you set up custom battles with your choice of factions, troops, commanders, terrain, and defences.
You can also learn the basics in The Jodfather's Prologue, a guided introduction covering recruitment, trading, caravans, and settlement assaults, all taught through his entirely respectable protection business.
The Prologue is available for free in the base game. You can play it without purchasing Conquest to get a taste of the campaign before deciding whether to buy the DLC.
