Tryshape is a casual 2D puzzle game for PC in which players control an ever-morphing shape to destroy rogue shapes through precise matching collisions.
Gameplay
The central loop revolves around controlling a morphball that changes form on the fly. Rogue shapes appear and shift constantly, requiring players to adjust their own shape to match during collisions. Successful matches destroy the targets and award points toward a high score goal. The shapes never stay static, so timing and quick adaptation form the core challenge. Special shapes appear at intervals and must be defeated to unlock powerups that help progress further into the levels. All visual, audio, and mechanical elements were created from scratch for this title, giving the experience a consistent handmade quality across every collision, sound cue, and background element.
Game Modes
Only a single player mode is available. The focus stays on endless high score runs where the goal is to survive as long as possible while racking up points through accurate morphing and collisions. No additional modes have been implemented yet, keeping the experience streamlined around personal bests and repeated attempts in the same 2D space.
Development and Updates
The entire project comes from a single creator who handles every aspect of art, sound effects, music, and core systems. Ongoing work continues on the title, with plans to expand the single player experience over time. The 2D world of mystery expands gradually as players defeat special shapes and collect powerups, revealing more of the environment through continued play sessions.
Is It Worth Playing?
Tryshape suits players who enjoy short, repeatable casual puzzle sessions centered on high score chasing and shape matching. The single player focus and custom built assets deliver a straightforward loop without distractions from other modes or online elements. Those who appreciate simple yet precise mechanics in a 2D setting will find repeated value in refining their morphing timing and powerup usage. Continued updates from the developer provide reason to return as new content appears.
