Poland, August 1993. Farmer Zdzisław's wife has spent two months cutting asparagus in Germany and she is coming home on Sunday. Her to-do list is on the fridge. The cow has run away, the money in the jar has been "invested", the roof leaks, the pumpkin is the size of a potato — and there seems to be a UFO over the field. You have five days.
Grażyna Returns on Sunday is a comedy story-driven third-person adventure in a Polish village in the early nineties. Inflation, disco polo, Poloneses on bricks, a village head obsessed with rubber stamps, a mother-in-law with a slipper and a best friend, Mietek, who has spent twenty years hunting aliens with a colander.
Five days, five chapters. From Wednesday to Sunday you have to get through Grażyna's list:
milk Mućka and deliver the milk (first you'll have to win the cow back from the tracksuit boys in a squatting contest);
pay the electricity bill, or your mother-in-law misses the Esperanza finale — and nobody will survive that;
fix the cowshed roof, trading your way to a roll of roofing felt at the town bazaar;
grow a pumpkin for the harvest festival and finally beat Pcim Dolny;
buy a 25th anniversary present — NOT flowers from the petrol station;
and most of all: DON'T DRINK WITH MIETEK.
Along the way you'll roll a crop circle with a tractor, run a fair for ufologists and TV crews, sell a German "alien artifacts" (a spoon, a hubcap and a washing-machine drum), sneak into swindler Rysiek's headquarters while the guard watches his soap, crack a safe, meet real aliens who came for free pierogi, win a tug of war against Pcim, expose the scam of the century on the festival stage and dance with Grażyna to disco polo.
Features:
A living village, Kozia Wólka: the farm, the church, the GS shop with its eternal "Nie ma!", the post office, the fire station, the ruins of the state farm, the wheat field, the pond of the legendary beaver — and a PKS bus trip to the market in town.
30+ characters with attitude and gibberish voices: a soap-addicted mother-in-law, a rubber-stamp bureaucrat, a priest who secretly loves Rambo, squatting tracksuit boys, a German ufologist, a Polsat 7 reporter and a man selling tanks "small ones, for the garden".
Ten minigames: squatting, milking, roofing, a crop circle with a roller, the "UFO-Pierogi" stall, stealth during the advert breaks, a safe, tug of war, a public trial and a rhythm dance.
Dialogue choices with consequences: the TV interview (the crazier, the more tourists), whether to drink with Mietek, which present to buy — the finale and Grażyna's list review depend on what you managed.
Side quests: a parcel from auntie in Chicago, a keyboard for the "Wąsy Band", Rambo for the tracksuit boys, a fire drill, Burek's bone and 15 Turbo gum inserts to collect.
An original disco-polo and 90s Polish pop soundtrack, day and night, an Ursus tractor with a trailer and a pumpkin the size of a Fiat Maluch.
Full Russian and English localisation, controller support, 30 Steam achievements.
The story takes 50–70 minutes; with every side quest, about an hour and a half.
Don't worry about running late: the PKS bus is always later.
