Canglang Scrolls
Canglang Scrolls is a single-player sandbox role-playing game set in a wuxia world. Travel across the map, speak with its people, learn and use martial arts, and engage in turn-based combat. You can also trade, gather resources, build, manage businesses, and attend to all manner of affairs.
There are no fixed classes and no single way to complete the game. Your choices will shape your relationships, determine the outcomes of your actions, and influence the path that lies ahead.
About This Game
You begin as an ordinary person.
In this jianghu of towns, villages, mountain roads, and frontier passes, you can seek out a master and study martial arts, form bonds with others, take part in trade, escort caravans, gather resources, hunt, establish businesses, join a faction, or simply make your own living.
Exploration combines travel across a world map with tile-based regional areas. Long journeys require you to consider your route and the time they will take. Once you enter an area, you can explore its terrain, characters, buildings, and resources tile by tile. Every action consumes time—and may bring new opportunities or unexpected trouble.
When conflict breaks out, the game shifts into turn-based tactical combat. Distance, terrain, obstacles, weapons, injuries, and the actions of your companions can all affect the course of battle. Fighting is not always the only solution. Negotiation, escape, seeking help, or accepting the consequences may also change how events unfold.
Characters are not merely waiting for the player to collect quests from them. They have their own identities, relationships, and loyalties, and will respond to you according to past events, local rumors, and their present circumstances. Prices are also influenced by where goods are produced, available stock, local demand, road conditions, and the wider state of the world.
Growth is about more than increasing numerical attributes. Martial arts, equipment, physical condition, practical skills, personal relationships, and the businesses you own will all affect the actions available to you. You may devote an entire lifetime to mastering martial arts, earning a living, managing enterprises, building connections, or exploring the world—and you are always free to change direction.
Canglang Xingjuan aims to present a wuxia world designed for long-term play. Rather than imposing a single goal upon the player, it allows every choice to become a reason to continue the journey.
